Every year, San Francisco East Bay’s Diablo magazine recognizes a few select individuals who provide meaningful and far ranging services to people in need with its prestigious Threads of Hope Award. Yours Humanly is pleased to announce that this year, Founder & CEO Sunny Singh was named a 2020 Threads of Hope honoree. Through his vision and tireless acts in service to others, Sunny is changing communities for the better in creative and generous ways, notes Diablo magazine. Sunny was featured in the December issue of Diablo and showcased at the live Threads of Hope event, held virtually on December 10, 2020. Yours Humanly presented a check in the amount of $1,370 to MDUSD Education Foundation to fund interactive science programs for students of Mt. Diablo Unified School District (Contra Costa County, CA). Members of Yours Humanly, MDUSD, and MDUSD Education Foundation attended the presentation at Ygnacio Valley High School, Concord, CA. This donation is made possible through our Coloring Futures initiative and our partnership with the Education Foundation during our Fall Break a Sweat for Education® Run & Walk fundraiser.

Yours Humanly received a $18,000 donation from TC Energy to fund STEM projects, kits, and supplies for students from underserved communities. We express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the workforce at TC Energy for their generosity and support!

Yours Humanly delivered $15,000 worth of art supplies to Wren Avenue Elementary, School of the Arts (Concord, California), benefiting more than 360 students served by the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The donation was made possible in part by the financial support of Pledge to Humanity and the work of dozens of volunteers who helped load and unload more than 50 boxes of arts supplies that were delivered in an enthusiastic demonstration of collaboration to the Wren Avenue Elementary campus on September 2.

To help close the alarming digital divide, Yours Humanly donated ten Chromebooks to Bel Air Elementary School (Bay Point, California), served by the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The Chromebooks will be distributed to children in need, benefiting scores of students who will now have access to the technology over the course of the school year, enabling them to participate in distance learning.

Yours Humanly has announced three new recipients of its quarterly Children Have the Power to Empower® Award, which recognizes children for their outstanding acts of goodness. The Children Have the Power to Empower Award showcases “in service to others” in a meaningful way and demonstrates to family, friends, and community that even children have the power to empower when they lend a helping hand and an open heart.

This spring, Sunny Singh, founder and CEO of Yours Humanly, was honored with a 2020 Jefferson Award for Public Service, recognized for his work by the most prestigious and longest-standing public service awards program in the United States. Sunny was chosen for his dedication to underprivileged children and for the work he has performed helping students in need receive access to quality education that will help them succeed in school and thrive beyond the classroom.
