We are excited to share that Yours Humanly is now an official, vetted nonprofit partner of GlobalGiving, the first and largest worldwide fundraising community for nonprofits, donors, and companies. This means you can now easily donate to support our work from anywhere in the world.

This new partnership will open new doors and help us expand educational opportunities for children in underserved communities, reach new supporters around the world, and create an even greater impact through our programs in education, literacy, digital inclusion, and youth empowerment.

Because of the extraordinary generosity and compassion of our donors, seven remarkable scholars in Cambodia, India, and Nepal reached a life-changing milestone in 2026 — graduating from high school and beginning their journeys into higher education. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of these students for their dedication, perseverance, and hard work in achieving this incredible accomplishment.

What once may have seemed like an impossible dream is now becoming a reality. Your support did more than help pay for school fees or supplies; it transformed lives by giving these students hope, confidence, opportunity, and the chance to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Today, these young scholars are stepping into colleges and universities with aspirations to become leaders, professionals, and changemakers in their communities.

Our Yours Humanly 2026 Gift of Schooling Gala was an amazing night of fun and fundraising! Thank you to those who attended and made the night so special with your presence and participation! For those who could not attend, you were missed, but we do recognize your contributions and support.

We are deeply grateful to all our sponsors for making this event possible. A special thank you to our Gala Presenting Sponsor James A. Bach, Law Offices of James A. Bach, for his generosity and firm belief in our mission. Shout outs to the spirited Alex Savidge, KTVU Ch. 2, who did a fabulous job at the helm as our master of ceremonies, and to our joyful guest speaker Rachel Axt, Miss California, whose personal stories about working with children with autism and special needs illustrated the importance of acceptance and inclusion in the lives of our children and youth.

Thank you to Chenda Chhi, founder and CEO of Coral Tree Education Foundation, our 2026 Leading With the Heart Honoree, recognized for her inspired vision and tireless leadership on behalf of Cambodian children and youth, and particularly girls and women. Ms. Chhi’s presentation was compelling and truly heartfelt — you could hear a pin drop. Thank you to Kayla Turnage, representing Assemblymember Anamarie Avila Farias, for presenting Yours Humanly with a Certificate of Recognition. And thank you most sincerely to our fantastic dancers from Dance House Walnut Creek, led by Artistic Director Alex Blitstein, for providing lively and engaging entertainment.

And a very special thank you to our gala co-chairs Vangie Long and Rhea Johnson, who once again put on a dazzling fundraiser that will live in our memories for a long time! This year’s theme was a Masquerade Affair! We were delighted to see so many attendees lean into the magic and mystery of the evening with masks and flourishes to their formal wear!

Photos of the extraordinary evening are available here and on our Facebook page.

We are recognizing Ms. Chhi for her extraordinary work on behalf of children and youth, with a particular focus on girls, in impoverished villages in Cambodia. Through her many programs and initiatives, she builds schools, brings English and computer learning to rural classrooms, provides life-changing scholarships for young women, and supports struggling families so education — and hope — can take root.

We are pleased to announce that KTVU 2 Anchor and News Reporter Alex Savidge will be our emcee at the Yours Humanly 2026 Gift of Schooling Gala, to be held on March 21, 2026, at the exquisite Blackhawk Museum, Danville, CA.

Alex has been with KTVU since 2011, covering San Francisco Bay Area news as both a reporter and anchor. A California native, raised in Berkeley, Alex loves the Bay Area for its vibrant cities, Mediterranean climate, and natural beauty. He appreciates the diversity of people and cultures who make up the fabric of our communities, and the chance to cheer on the best professional sports teams around. Alex cares deeply about ensuring all students have access to a quality education, and is joined in that mission by his wife, Ana, a lifelong educator in the public school system. When he can, he uses his platform to shed light on and tell the stories of those in the community who are working to help children and put students on a path to success.

We’re thrilled that Alex will be our emcee at the 2026 Gift of Schooling Gala and are grateful for his support!
