In the summer of 2021, six Northern California high school students formed a nonprofit, iTutor Academy, whose mission is to advocate for and provide quality education that is accessible to all at an affordable price. It was inspiring to see the team run the online summer camp for children grades 3-5, teaching all the classes in math, English, and science; and facilitating all the art, debate, and public speaking clubs.

The girls did amazing work, helping campers learn new skills to get a head start on the upcoming school curriculum.

iTutor was a success out the gate and the team raised $2,000 in the first session, which was donated in its entirety to Yours Humanly. Being faithful to their mission, the girls said they chose to donate to Yours Humanly because its mission aligns with their passion for providing children with opportunities for quality education.

Yours Humanly is grateful to these creative, innovative, and compassionate young people, and we wish them and iTutor all success for summer camps to come!

He has worked with the Wheelchair Foundation and with Special Olympics, fundraising through the annual Polar Plunge on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities. With a desire to become intimately involved in organizations that directly help people in need, Aaron joined Yours Humanly after hearing Sunny Singh’s deeply moving story about growing up in India.

“As a parent of two children, I recognize how impressionable they are and how critical it is to connect with them at a young age. We can’t wait until college to give children tools to navigate life. We need to provide quality education now, when they’re young—to help them learn to read and write, think strategically, solve problems, and become informed and confident decision-makers from an early age. That’s why education is so powerful—that’s the tool that’s going to lift children out of difficult situations.”
