Our Yours Humanly 2025 Gift of Schooling Gala was an amazing night of fun and fundraising! Thank you to those who attended and made the night so special with your presence and participation! For those who could not attend, you were missed, but we do recognize your contributions and support.

And a very special thank you to our gala co-chairs Vangie Long and Rhea Johnson, who once again put on a dazzling fundraiser that will live in our memories for a long time! This year’s theme was Celebrating our multicultural connections, and we delighted in seeing so many people dressing the part! Everyone looked spectacular — truly an expression of our global connections and friendships.

We’re happy to announce that Miss California Kimberly Vernon will be joining us at our March 29 Gift of Schooling Gala as a guest speaker! 

Kimberly was born and raised in Santa Clara, California, and represented Santa Clara County when she won the centennial crown, making her the 100th Anniversary Miss California. Her platform, Arts For All, advocates for accessible arts education in Title 1 schools and lower socio-economic communities, and educational initiatives that foster creativity and self-expression. Kimberly is a magna cum laude graduate of California State University, Fullerton, with a double major in theatre and cinema television arts. A skilled jazz dancer and marketing professional in the tech industry, Kimberly has toured more than 30 states as a performer with the world-renowned Santa Clara Vanguard drum and bugle corps. We are honored to welcome Kimberly Vernon, Miss California, to our 2025 Gift of Schooling Gala!

Yours Humanly is thrilled to announce that Adonal Foyle, former professional basketball player with the Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic, is our 2025 Leading With the Heart Honoree. We are recognizing Mr. Foyle for his extraordinary work with the Kerosene Lamp Foundation, the nonprofit he founded in 2003 that focuses on youth development, education, and positive play. The Kerosene Lamp Foundation has enhanced the lives of more than 52,000 underserved children in the Caribbean and United States. 

The Yours Humanly Leading With the Heart Award recognizes individuals and organizations for their vision and leadership on behalf of children and youth. We are pleased to announce that KTVU 2 Anchor and News Reporter Alex Savidge will be our emcee at the Yours Humanly 2025 Gift of Schooling Gala, to be held on March 29, 2025, at the exquisite Blackhawk Museum, Danville, CA.

Alex has been with KTVU since 2011, covering San Francisco Bay Area news as both a reporter and anchor. A California native, raised in Berkeley, Alex loves the Bay Area for its vibrant cities, Mediterranean climate, and natural beauty. He appreciates the diversity of people and cultures who make up the fabric of our communities, and the chance to cheer on the best professional sports teams around. Alex cares deeply about ensuring all students have access to a quality education, and is joined in that mission by his wife, Ana, a lifelong educator in the public school system. When he can, he uses his platform to shed light on and tell the stories of those in the community who are working to help children and put students on a path to success.

Yours Humanly is holding its 5th annual Tee Off for Education Golf Tournament on Monday, October 21, 9am, at the Rossmoor Golf Course, 1010 Stanley Dollar Drive, Walnut Creek, followed by a raffle and awards presentation dinner at the Stanley Dollar Event Center.
