We are pleased to announce that Heffernan Foundation awarded Yours Humanly a $5,000 grant on January 22, 2018, toward our educational initiatives for underprivileged children in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are pleased to announce that CBS 5 Anchor and News Reporter Juliette Goodrich will be our emcee at our 2018 Gift of Schooling Gala, to be held on March 16, 2018 at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, CA. An Emmy award-winning reporter, Juliette joined CBS 5 in 1997 and has performed a variety of anchoring and reporting assignments, covering a wide variety of local and national stories. She is currently the weekend nighttime anchor.

Juliette is involved in many community organizations and is also the author of five children’s books. A Bay Area native, Juliette and her husband live in the East Bay with their three children.

Yours Humanly received a grant from the Rotary Club of Walnut Creek in the amount of $2,500 on October 31, 2017, at a Rotary Club of Walnut Creek weekly luncheon.

We are pleased to announce that Eshan Kalra (Chandler, AZ), Riya Kalra (Chandler, AZ), and Malaina Faith Ortega (Oakley, CA) are each recipients of a 2017 Yours Humanly Children Have the Power to Empower Award.

Eshan and Riya are being recognized for their history of service to others and for the outstanding acts of goodness they continue to perform through the organization they founded, Help Humanity Today. Their caring hearts and innovative spirits are making great impacts on children, adults, and families. They raised funds to aid refugees in Belgium, Greece, and Bulgaria; collected sports equipment for underprivileged children in Africa; and have partnered with local organizations such as Cloud Covered Streets, Matthews Crossing Food Bank, and Welcome to America Project to extend their reach.

Malaina is being recognized for creating and operating a free lending library for neighborhood children. By sharing her own books and those donated by her supporters, she is empowering children, whose lives are enriched with every word they read, every book they complete. Her caring heart and innovative spirit are making an impact on young readers, who are discovering worlds of wonder and enchantment in every book she offers.
