Matt Guichard is the founding partner of Guichard, Teng, Portillo & Garrett, a full service law firm serving Northern California since 1994, with offices in Walnut Creek and San Francisco. Expert in alternative dispute resolution, Matt specializes in general civil litigation, commercial litigation, and trial work. 

Matt’s extensive legal experience includes work as a Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney, where he managed the homicide and sexual assault teams and handled thousands of felony cases. A graduate of the McGeorge School of Law, Matt has a lifetime Community College Teaching Credential and taught for a number of years at the Los Medanos College Police Academy. He is also a 2002 graduate of Leadership Contra Costa, an eight-month program, presented by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, designed to identify and prepare potential leaders who want to make a difference in their communities. 

Matt is an active board member of Rotary Club of Walnut Creek and the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, where he served as board chair for the 2020–2021 term; and has served on the boards of Child Assault Prevention, Youth Homes, American Cancer Society, and the Robert G. McGrath American Inn of Court, an association of legal professionals designed to improve the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the bench and bar. Additionally, he heads a scholarship foundation for Hispanic youth in Yolo County.

This is an organization I believe in.” Matt is an experienced fundraiser and communicator, and uses his voice to advocate on behalf of Yours Humanly and help grow the organization for the good of children locally and around the world.
