Munachi Udenyi

Munachi Udenyi received the Children Have the Power to Empower® Award for the outstanding acts of goodness she performed through the Helping Hands program she founded in partnership with the library in Hercules, CA, to tutor and mentor low income students of color. Her extraordinary efforts and dedication to support students in need have had an impact on a great number of young people, and by extension, their families and communities. She used her own funds to underwrite the program that benefitted 20 students, who spent the summer being tutored and mentored by accomplished high school student volunteers.
