Literacy Programs

Coronado Elementary School in Richmond, California, is a PreK-6 Dual Language Immersion (DLI) School that participates in the West Contra Costa USD Classroom Library Project, Reading Workshop. Through Reading Workshop, Coronado is at the forefront of supporting increased access to improved literacy outcomes for its students. Its DLI classroom libraries are in dire need of support and help in securing books in both English and Spanish, especially for K-3 DLI classrooms. Recognizing that children who have access to great books become engaged readers, Yours Humanly was pleased to donate more than 100 Spanish-English bilingual books to K-3 classrooms at Coronado, serving hundreds of young students today and in the future. This project was made possible through our Coloring Futures initiative, which supports and strengthens educational programs such as Reading Workshop for children in need.

It seems so simple, doesn’t it—putting books in the hands of children in need who are eager to learn. But we can only do that with your financial help. Please donate today to give young readers and English learners the tools they need and the opportunities they deserve.
