This spring, Yours Humanly hosted Family Literacy Night “round two” at two Concord, CA, elementary schools that were a part of our popular two-year, 10-school Family Literacy Night project. The two events held at Meadow Homes and Fair Oaks elementary schools were attended collectively by more than 275 students and their families. Students were treated to a variety of engaging literacy-themed activities and a light buffet-style dinner. We purchased and delivered more than 1,000 books for students to take home and for classroom and library shelves. Meadow Homes handed out reading awards, and Fair Oaks students played word finding, word bingo, and story completion games. The two-year Yours Humanly Family Literacy Night project (2023—2025) benefited more than 4,000 students in ten Concord elementary schools served by Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
